The excursion to Jerusalem even though it took 13 hours (tiring) it was the star of this cruise, for us was more of a pilgrimage to the Holy Land . We loved it!! ...

I’m glad I had a guide that could come to where ship was docked. I felt sorry for people who made private arrangements/took taxis when coming back to port as gate was far and shuttles not as frequent as they could have been. Lots of great things to do including Caesarea Maritima, Sea of Galilee. ...

We organised our own private tour (15 people) with Guided Tours Israel because RC had not provided those embarking at Limassol with choices. Due to the disembarkation issues in Israel we persuaded RC to escort us off the boat as early as possible which was the only way we could do most of the tour. The tour was comprehensive and covered most of the Christian Gallilee sites. ...

Choose to see the cradle of Christianity. Good tour but be mindful with extra offers from guide to sell what was not included in the tour. For example- extra stop for lunch to particular place where they have commissions instead of giving free time for local shopping. ...

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Norwegian Jade

Our ship docked in an industrial part of the port, so you had to take a shuttle out of the area to see the town. We took a ship's excursion to visit Nazareth, the baptismal site Yardenit on the River Jordan, and the Mount of the Beatitudes. The scenery was beautiful and it was a lovely and relaxing day. When we returned to port we had enough time to take the free shuttle bus into Haifa. It stopped ...

Haifa, Israel 3 * Free shuttle to the German quarter in town but there is very little to see or do there. The Station is close to the port, across a bridge but you are not allowed to cross the bridge. We had to return to the shuttle drop off point to get back to the ship, even though we had our passports etc. Taxis are also not allowed on the port, which was a pain because the shuttle did not ...

The port of Haifa has to be the most tedious and stressful port around. We were fortunate to have been clued into the shuttle that takes you up the ramp. Also, we took off our own luggage and were allowed to go through this magical gate whereas others who had their luggage taken off the night before were subjected to a very long line. ...

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Odyssey of the Seas

The city itself was great and we docked right in Haifa so you could just walk off. We had an over-night here. Saw many areas and had booked well in advance with non-ship tour providers. Passengers needed to go through the full immigration process at first Israeli port, even if you weren't getting off the ship. You had to queue to get a ticket( early morning the day before) to get off the ship to ...
